Wheelman is a great driving game that was developed in Newcastle by Midway Studios, published by Midway Games and Ubisoft. It is out for the PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360. The game stars Vin Diesel as an undercover operative who uses his highly skilled driving abilities to penetrate the criminal underworld located in Barcelona, all to gather as much information as he can about a covert heist. As an undercover operative, he has to stay ahead of the cities law enforcement, while creating tensions between the rivalling gangs within the city. The game has some spectacular graphics and action sequences in true Hollywood style over the top action moves. It will really leave you with a lasting wow factor.
Despite the appealing promotional work and graphics that make it look like a flashy game, the reviews are quite poor, coming in at less than 5/10. For a lot of people, their expectations weren’t that high for this game, expecting a lot of over the top unnecessary explosions, a thin storyline and cheesy Vin Diesel dialogue. What players got with the game was exactly that times ten, and it all lacked substance. Some say that there is a distinct lack of a story line, the city in which the game is played gets very repetitive, unrealistic action sequences and enemies that are a bit on the mentally challenged side. Its one thing for a game to disappoint you, but it’s a completely new low when a game disappoints you when you already had low expectations.
